The Capital District Regional Planning Commission (CDRPC) developed this economic dashboard to provide timely and relevant indicators of economic health and recovery in Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga and Schenectady Counties. Data is available at a regional and county level. This dashboard was funded through the US Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration CARES Act.
The visualizations and charts can be embedded by using the on the upper right hand corner of each item, and the underlying data can also be downloaded by using the “Get the data” link in the bottom left of each item.
Jobs & UnemploymentThis section includes key indicators which show impact on and changes to sector-based employment, unemployment claims and leading indicators like job posting trends.
Regional MobilityThis section shows changes over time to regional mobility including airport passenger and freight volume, transit ridership, and traffic volumes on a sampling of the region’s significant highway corridors.

Small Business And Consumer ActivityThis section shows trends related to small business activity and credit card spending compared to a pre-COVID baseline.
MigrationThis section shows relocation to (in-migration) to Capital Region by county, represented by USPS change of primary address.
Stimulus & BankruptciesThis section provides information related to a sampling of federal funding provided to small business, and bankruptcies experienced over time.
Some of the summary data included in the report may not include suppressed data. Data suppression occurs in cases where private, identifying information would be disclosed. In most cases, this does not impact the total values presented in the report, but in cases where there are small industries or areas, data suppressions may reduce the accuracy of the data we can display.
